In this six-episode series, the hosts, Dr. Justina Licata and Isabel Stephens discuss medical racism, eugenics and forced sterilization practices, abortion rights, as well as disability and LGBTQ+ activism. The sixth and final episode of “A Step Toward Justice” discusses a short history of the LGBTQ+ Rights Movement and the Disability Rights Movement, focusing on the lives and activism of two prominent figures within those movements: Marsha P. Johnson and Judith (Judy) Heumann, respectively. This episode analyzes their activism while also relating both of these movements to the ever-evolving field of reproductive justice.
